- SkyScan-1078:
Specification

SkyScan-1078
High-throughput in-vivo / in-vitro
micro-CT system
The SkyScan 1078 is an
ultra-fast micro-CT system for high throughput in-vivo
and in-vitro scanning of small laboratory
animals, and for material science / process control
applications. The X-ray scanner contains two source-detector
pairs on the rotational gantry, and allows objects to
remain static during scanning. Up to 8 dual-processor
computers on a local network can reconstruct full 3d-volume
directly during acquisition. The typical scanning+reconstruction
cycle for 512x512x512 pixels cube with 94um pixel
size is 55 seconds. The instrument is supplied with
full physiological monitoring for in-vivo
small animal scanning, including colour real-time
imaging of the animal during investigation. The
scanner can operate fully automatically from a front
panel pushbutton.
