CTAN / CTVOL Software Package: Licensing

SkyScan's new software package, for image analysis and 
visualization of the micro-CT results, is supplied as 
one zip-file, which includes all the necessary components. 
Firstly unzip this file into any folder on your hard 
disk. Then start the CTan.exe - program for 2D / 3D 
processing and analysis. To make an automatic connection 
to the second program - CTvol (program for realistic 3D 
visualization) - define it in CTan as the "3D visualization 
program" in File -> Preferences -> Tools. 

Brief information about using the CTan and CTvol programs 
can be found in the supplied "Getting Started" document.

The supplied software package can be used in one of three 
modes:

1. Demo mode with limited functionality,
2. Evaluation mode (one month) with full functionality,
3. Permanent mode with full functionality.

In the first start of CTan, the software will operate in 
the Demo mode. This mode has limited functionality and does 
not allow saving analysis results to your disk. To move 
from Demo mode to Evaluation mode, send the Product ID number, 
which can be found in Help -> About CTAn (copy and paste it 
to the e-mail body) with your Name and Organization to the 
address sasov@skyscan.be and we will return you a licensing 
file "CTAn.lic" for free one month evaluation with full 
functionality. This file should be copied into the folder 
with CTan program, and in the next start the user should type 
his Product ID, Name and Organization in exactly the same way 
as it will be shown in the reply e-mail from SkyScan.

Current users of SkyScan instruments and official SkyScan 
distributors can get the Permanent license file for unlimited 
usage of the software. All new instruments, shipped after 
the beginning of November 2003, will be supplied with the 
preinstalled Permanent version of the software. Other customers 
can get the Permanent license file against the payment for the 
software package. Please contact your local SkyScan distributor
